Hello. My name is Kiera and by way of introducing myself, I am a foster carer and I work in the child welfare sector myself. These two parts of me are what has lead to my decision to create TheFosterCareHub blog. In my foster carer journey I struggled to find a clear repository online to help me navigate information and news that could assist me in my understanding. Hence my decision to compile topics I believe are important for anyone who is already or interested in fostering (or being a relative/kin carer). If you are considering becoming a foster carer, about to care for a child in your family, becoming a carer or are already a carer then this blog is designed for you. If you are an adult that has a child or children in care, I acknowledge the pain this must cause you and am trying hard to ensure I send a message that wherever possible, parents are supported to build safety so children can return home but more importantly supported earlier to avoid children coming into care. My hope for you is that TheFosterCareHub helps attract more people to the 'caring' role who do want to support children to get back home by working with parents and honor family connections for children that remain in care.
